The surgeon Kotidis Eustatius in collaboration with the group of gastrenterogiki Klinkis St. Luke successfully announced the results of the pioneering treatment complete rectal prolapse in a young patient

applied in our clinic.

The rectal prolapse is a pathological condition in which the rectum, i.e. the final section of the colon moves out of the anal ring when trying defecation, loss of its support. This results in the output occluded bowel and constipation worsens the patient. Treatment consisted of conservative measures first and physiotherapy applied by the GI team clinic and then surgery which included supporting the rectum and pelvic floor using a special matrix and removing part of the colon. The operation was performed laparoscopically by k.Kotidi and his team successfully. The correction of prolapse of the rectum and the relaxation of the pelvic soil was immediate and complete with simultaneous decline of chronic constipation the patient.
